Wine and Writing… I love these guys. They’ve been a part of my passionate enterprises for a while now, so it was about time the two of them got hitched.
As a result, I began a wine blog, “What’s in the Bottle?” in the spring of 2012. It is after all one of the first things people ask about when you arrive at a dinner party with a bottle in tow, or when the sales rep rolls the bag of samples in for a tasting, or what you might ask the bartender at any countless number of social gatherings, fundraisers or events. We all want to know what’s in the bottle.
So I kick-started my blog with a compilation, a record of the wine and spirit columns that I have been writing since 2006 for the Knoxville News Sentinel in Knoxville, Tennessee. These seasonal reviews cover a little of everything that is made available and worth trying as a year rolls on.
My weekly posts bring into focus the other side of wine, what to pair it with. Perhaps food should be called wine’s better half; they are undeniably a marriage of everything we celebrate with and often can’t wait to enjoy… whether it’s on a vacation, for the weekend, at a wedding or party with family and friends, or simply at the end of the day.
Know what you’re drinking and what to pair it with, and thanks for reading, commenting and following!
Maybe I’ll learn something, I love wine, but know nothing about choosing it!
I’m here to help, anytime. Keep in touch and best of luck in November!
Great article on Zinfandel and Primitivo. Where can I find the Seqhesio Rockpile Zin? Miss seeing you… as you helped me with Cade.
